Description
This verdant landscape depicts a view of the park on the grounds of Kammer Castle. Klimt had spent the summer staying at the Villa Oleander on the opposite shore of the Attersee and painted a number of views of the lake and the surrounding countryside. This work was most likely painted using a telescope, which brought the subject close and introduced a flattening affect.
