Poster for the First Vienna Secession exhibition

Description

This poster was made for the First Vienna Secession exhibition, held in rented space at the Horticultural Society. It is an allegorical depiction of the struggle between young and old, here represented by the Greek myth of Theseus battling the Minotaur. Klimt was required by censors to insert strategically placed tree trunks to hide Theseuss full nudity.
