PUBLIC SATELLITES

Description

To explore how people collect and share information using a combination of high and low technologies, Public Satellites will allow Illuminus participants to engage with the festival and each other by distributing camera, recorders, radio, written notes, and transmitters. Participants will collect information in the field and broadcast it back to the “Central Hub,” which will which display information in real time on a chalkboard and through projection and monitors. This interactive sculpture and social platform explores how to share resources, collect and broadcast information, and coordinate individuals in public space in artistic and non-artistic contexts.
